History

1852

Eduard Meßmer opens a grocery and delicatessen store with an exquisite black tea range in Baden-Baden. The name Meßmer soon stands for selected and best quality.

1895

Otto Meßmer registered “Thee Messmer” as a trademark and created the first tea brand. The exquisite tea specialties are highly valued throughout the country.

1908

Otto Meßmer changes the trademark to "Meßmer's Tea".

1990

The East Frisian Tea Society takes over Meßmer and brings the brand to Hamburg.

2000

Messmer switched to the knot technique on the teabag and dispensed with the metal clip.

2011

The Messmer brand identity is completely revised.

2015

Messmer is the only tea supplier to switch its entire range to sustainable raw materials.

2018

Since May 2017, all of Messmer's black, green, fruit and herbal teas have been made from 70% sustainable raw materials. The aim is to obtain 100% of our tea raw material from sustainable cultivation by 2020.

2019

Messmer tea shines in a noble blue and can therefore be found in stores at first glance: Thanks to the new packaging design, nobody has to look for our tea for long.
